Dean Martin is best know for being dressed up, with his impeccable clean-cut 1950s Rat-Pack look, but in the picture below, we see him in a recording session with Mahalia Jackson, sporting a simple clean-cut look with just a t-shirt, and perfectly draped, deep pleated slacks.

Welcome To Jake's Timeless Style Guide
My name is Jake Ehrlich. When I was 16 years old, in 1982, I began designing clothes, which became my career path. In 1989 I almost went to work for Ralph Lauren in New York, but ultimately I decided I should try to start my own clothing line, so I did, and I started DOTT, which stood for Designs Of Tomorrow Today.
Under the DOTT label, I made high-end custom suits and shirts for men, as well as ladies. I also did men's hat and came out with a line of DOTT neckwear, which was sold in stores like Wilkes Bashford in San Francisco, as well as Nordstrom.
Years later I created the JAKEe and JAKEeJEANS brands.
I also started a computer company named BulletTrain which you can view at BulletTrain.com.
Over the past 30 years, I have designed all kinds of interesting things, ranging from clothing to furniture to iPhone cases, but in a strange way, I have always really considered my self, first and foremost to be a clothing designer.
When I was 16 years old, not only did I begin my clothing design company, but I also fell in love with the Rolex brand of watches and purchased my first Rolex, which was a stainless steel Submariner. I remember thinking to myself, at the time, if I somehow obtained and wore the Rolex Submariner, it would make me some kind of James Bond like guy. This was interesting because at the time, I didn't realize that all the James Bond actors had worn Rolex Submariner watches.
In 2008, I began my crazy blogging career and it all started with Jake's Rolex World, which has been a huge success. Since then I have become a prolific blogger, and have created more than 10 blogs.
For the last few years, I have been contemplating creating a clothing design blog, because with so many decades of experience and insight, I would like to share my perspective and opinions with my readers. It took my a while to figure out because I like women's clothing and accessories as much as I like men's.
Basically, I wanted to create a blog that was like Jake's GQ Magazine World meets Jake's Vouge Magazine World. The obvious challenge, is that int the world of paper magazines, the pretty much either have men's fashion magazines, or women's, but I wanted to have both in the same place. Why? When I was a small child, I attended an all boys school name Cathedral School For Boys in San Francisco, and it was fun. Actually, I only attended Cathedral for first and second grade.
As I look back, I don't believe in segregating boys from girls. After all when we become adults, we live together, thus I think it is unhealthy to keep the Yin away from the Yang. Same thing with Fashion and Accessories, after much contemplation and thought I came up with a solution. I decided I would create Jake's Style Guide World so that I would offer both together, with a button at the top that would offer the ability to easily isolate if you were so inclined.
So what sets Jake's Timeless Style Guide apart from anything else? My design signature has always been to design products that are timeless. Timeless Design by definition is when things appear to be from the past and future simultaneously. Take Cary Grant for instance. Cary Grant's style was completely timeless. In other words, if time machines existed, you could transport Cary Grant from the mid 1950s into any corporate boardroom today, and Cary would fit-in perfectly.
I hope you enjoy Jake's Style Guide!!!
